History

The most important milestones in our long history

KMW Engineering was established in 1983. For over 40 years we constructed hundreds of modern ventilation systems, mainly abroad, but also in Poland. Customers in many countries benefited from this vast experience.

KMW Engineering products are installed in systems ensuring comfort and those used for technological processes. KMW Engineering specialises in industrial ventilation, representing the most demanding group of systems.

Highly specialised team of over 200 employees perform the production process in plant located in northern-central Poland, in Solec Kujawski. The team of fitters with long-term experience gained at our company ensures professional installation of HVAC systems.

1983

KMW Engineering is established by Krzysztof M. Wojtkowiak

1986

Design office is established in Warsaw

1986

KMW Engineering opens own engineering office in Warsaw in order to design ventilation systems

1988

Ventilation and airconditioning system for  Marriott Hotel in Warsaw – design, manufacturing of ductwork and whole installation

1989

First project outside Poland. Deliveries and installation works in Libya

1989

– First project abroad in Libia
– Production of ventilation grates is started
– Production of fire dampers is started

1991

Start of circular ductwork production

1993

KMW Engineering office in Warsaw as a part of joined mechanical contractor with Krantz-TKT Germany

1994

Acquistition of the production plant in Inowrocław

1995

Start of custom made air handling units production in new factory in Inowrocław 

2000

Design, supply and installation of air handling units for paintshop Volkswagen in Poznań

2000

Designing and construction of air treatment and supply system for the coating technology – Volkswagen, Poznań

2002

KMW Engineering launched mechanical contractor TKT Engineering in Warsaw, Poznań and Wrocław

2003

Austrian shareholder from Ortner Group joins KMW Engineering

2003

Austrian shareholder, the Ortner Group, joins KMW Engineering

2004

First comprehensive contract for nuclear power plant Ignalina, Lithuania – delivery of ductwork and air handling units for Wet Waste Storage, installation supervision

2007

The biggest contract in history starts – Nuclear Power Plant Olkiluoto 3 in Finland – delivery of whole ductwork, lost formwork, supports and installation of ventilation system for nuclear island

2007

Construction of the ventilation system for the nuclear power plant OL3, Finland, is started

2007

Alone again…
KMW Engineering without investor from Ortner Group

2009

KMW Engineering starts leak-tightness tests in own laboratory to fulfill high requirements of Olkiluoto 3 project

2009

KMW Laboratory starts leak-tightness tests for products and installed systems, conducted by our own LT2 inspectors

2011

KMW Engineering opens own paint shop compliant with ISO 1944-5 to fulfill requirements of Olkiluoto 3 project

2014

First contract in offshore business

2014

production for investments in the offshore sector is started (in cooperation with Norwegian company ITEK A.S.)

2022

KMW Engineering acquires NucAir Technologies – a company established in 2015 with welded ductwork business

2023

KMW Engineering takes part in World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris

2024

KMW Engineering acquires KMW Engineering Group – a company established to provide KMW Engineering services based on separate so-called central departments 

2024

KMW Engineering in the process of qualification by the WBC Consortium WESTINGHOUSE BECHTEL as a supplier of ventilation systems and ventilation installation for the first Polish nuclear power plant “Poland AP1000 Project” Lubiatowo-Kopalino
