Air handling units
Air handling units
Since 1995, air handling units manufactured at KMW Engineering are distinguished by their specific design. The casing is characterised by a lack of the frame. The self-supported panel, constructed of 2 mm metal sheets in the standard design, allows free modelling of dimensions and shapes. The casing wall thickness also can be modified freely. This type of design facilitates solving of any problems related to fitting the device into the construction, as its size is not a limiting factor.
We offer air handling units with horizontal, vertical, around the corner, octagonal (see Reichstag, Berlin) shape and cross-section.
With the same type of construction we make various casings for machines, plenum boxes, sound absorbing casings, just made to measure.
During over 20 years of air handling units manufacturing at KMW Engineering they underwent many certifications and tests; due to the variety of custom-made solutions the further certification is useless.
The range of produced standard types contains 19 standard sizes of air volume from 500 to 200 000 m3/h.
Larger units can be also easily built, the capacity of the largest air processing unit manufactured at KMW Engineering exceeded 400 000 m3/h and the capacity of the largest heat recovery chambers with an integral rotor system, manufactured for Volkswagen Poznań and BMW Dingolfing exceeded 1 200 000 m3/h.

Panel constructions
Production of panel structures results from development of the production technology used to manufacture air processing units for ventilation and air conditioning systems. Contrary to commonly used framework technologies, the panel technology is based on the self-supporting structure.
In fact, each panel component is a profiled beam of particularly high rigidity, with relatively low weight. This technology is used in large-size systems. This design is particularly resistant to operational deformations, due to screw connections.
Standard panel width is 300, 600 or 900 mm, maximum length 6 000 mm. The typical panel components are constructed as 70 mm or 40 mm-thick beams. All dimensions can be adjusted to individual requirements at the facilities.
The structures are manufactured in two versions:
- panels without insulation,
- panels with inner thermal or noise insulation.
The panels are permanently connected with screws, using sealants or by braze welding, to ensure high leak-tightness.
This system is an ideal solution for production of ventilation ducts, noise-absorbing, filtration or dust chambers, air locks, and paint or drying booths.
There is no size limitation, due to the fact that biggest construction could be delivered in panels and screwed on site.

Air showers
Using the same type of panels as for air handling units and various panel constructions every air shower (for material or staff) could be easily made.
